Great Bay Trout Unlimited continues to maintain the Jack Brock Memorial Stocking Fund, a separate fund utilized for stocking of local rivers. This fund is supported primarily by donations. Money from this fund will be used to stock selected local rivers, in special Catch & Release sections, to augment GBTU events like Casting for Recovery. These events are usually held in the fall, when the numbers of fish in our local rivers are typically low due to spring and summer harvest and high summer water temperatures. After the GBTU event, these fish remain in the cooler fall waters for everyone to enjoy throughout the fall and winter catch & release season, and into the spring angling season. 

Great Bay Trout Unlimited is committed to work with local clubs, and NH Fish & Game, to encourage increased fall stocking so that these resources can be enjoyed by all over a longer period of the year and during water conditions more favorable for trout. While Trout Unlimited’Äôs ultimate goal is to restore the cold water fisheries of North America, Great Bay Trout Unlimited recognizes the limitations to local river restorations at this time, and encourages the enjoyment of ethical catch & release angling to keep the interest in these resources, and the traditional activities that they support, alive and vibrant in our region.
