Wiswall Dam

The planning for a fish-ladder
on the Lamprey River is still underway.

We recently obtained an update on this project. To read about it click here.

Commissioner Liaison Meeting:

Our next liaison meeting will be at the NH F&G Region 3 Office, 225 Main St., Durham, on Sunday January 15, 2006, at 7PM. Please come and take the opportunity to voice your concerns, make suggestions, or even verbalize your observations. I’m sure there will be time to reconnoiter with your hunting and fishing buddies too. Our agenda will include a review of the past several Commission Meeting Minutes, the upcoming Commission Meeting Agenda, and a guest speaker, biologist Doug Grout, who will talk about how the upcoming Wiswall Dam Fishway will affect the Lamprey River. I look forward to seeing you there.

Fall Trout and Salmon Fishing

The Great Bay Chapter has spearheaded a proposal that has been presented to NH F&G at the bi-annual public hearing.

This proposal states as follows: "The the season for "taking" trout and salmon in all NH waters be extended in the fall to ice-in conditions in all waters of the state except for those in the designated wild brookie program. This extended season will be for fly fishing and artificial lure only and will be limited to catch and release"

To date, the F&G department has been unable to provide any scientific evidence to refute the overwhelming evidence gathered by the Great Bay chapter indicating no negative effects to catch and release fishing in the fall.

Signatures in support of this proposal have been submitted along with the proposal. Everyone is encouraged to contact F&G to express their support for this rule change.
Web Links

You may have noticed the link on the main menu. We have introduced a "links" page, where club members can offer their professional services to other members. The idea is to keep this as a fishing related services page, like guides, taxidermists, fly tyers etc.

Each entry on this page will include a short description of the service, and link to a web page or email address.

To request your services be added to this page, please contact the webmaster.
