On Thursday, April 19th, Garrison Elementary conducted Earth Day celebrations, and with help of many volunteers and donations, the day was a huge success. The children participated in many environmental projects to help foster an awareness and appreciation for environmental consciousness. Great Bay Trout Unlimited helped through a donation of $300.00 to the school to help fund plantings of 3 trees. The school had a dedication ceremony at 2:30 to dedicate an Nature trail & an Outdoor sitting area. The gathering drew nearly 75 volunteers, and thanks to their efforts, and generous gifts from sources like GBTU, Timberland, the day was a success. Local coverage was provided by WTSN radio station.
