Letter from the President

Someone once asked me why I liked to fish. My answer: it’s a great excuse to play in the water. And today the answer is the same although it has gotten a little more complicated.
Now it is important to me that I play in clean water that is free from litter, which is why the Lamprey River clean-up day is so critical. Now it is important to me that I have access to rivers. Our partnership with the City of Dover, NH Fish & Games’ Land Owner Relation Program & other Conservation groups is necessary to ensure continued access. Education programs like the New Hampshire Trout Unlimited Camp for Kids and fish stocking days give the outdoors a value to the next generation. Teach a kid to fish & you have given them a lifetime of wonder and joy, and maybe someone to take you fishing. Casting for Recovery programs and a donation to the Garrison Elementary Earth Day celebration help to connect us to the communities in which we live and work So the next time you are out fishing, take a moment, think about what you have, think about why it’s there and how you can participate to make it better. Volunteer; it does make a difference. And remember who first took you fishing.
Thanks, Mom.
